I think Ramuda would avoid a direct fight if he were without his microphone. Alhaitham would be the winner in a purely physical altercation, I think. If they were both with their magic, however, it would likely be brutal, though I could see Ramuda starting it, or at least finding a way to taunt Alhaitham into a battle like that.
Who would win that one, however... I know little of Alhaitham's own abilities. Ramuda's own magic does seem very unique, however. It might confound him.

As for Ramuda, I believe he's merely very particular. Why he took a shine to me of all people, I cannot really say, as I do not really know for certain. I did share one of the few cigarettes I had with him once, but his interest in pestering me extended back to the very beginning of this mess.
