[Unsurprising location to find this one; probably a chicken and the egg question whether the puppet came first or the area came first, but at least it's all cleaned up now.
He'll take a spot on the couch; I assume he's just sitting next to a puppet like an episode of the Muppets but it's routine now.]
I'd like to know more about the samples you've collected here and elsewhere. Whether you still have something to study from those who were taken, the differences between these individuals and the ones you've studied in the past, and whether it's possible to isolate the darkness that seemed to have taken root in them.
Most of what I use to study against are my notes. When I was in my home world, I took detailed notes of everything that I was finding out and what I was doing so that I would be able to continue working even if I didn't have live samples to work off of.
If "these individuals" are referring to Yuki and Lynne, then I haven't had enough time to really see the differences but there are more similarities than there are differences. [ and. ] In order to isolate the "darkness" is...a rather difficult task.
[It's said fairly mildly, all things considered. After the events of the weekend it's self-evident that something -- many things -- have to change if they're to move forward or get anywhere.
Hence why he's here in the first place.]
So that means progress has been hampered by the lack of new data or live data to study from until now. [...] And yes, I'm referring to them, and whether you've kept samples from the others.
[ me trying to remember what information was given out when. anyway, we're doing this. ]
Even though the first case was brought to me as fast as they could when they realized that it was no normal illness, it had still progressed quickly. Every sample that I was able to take from those who were ill were unstable in a way that I was unfamiliar with.
I've deal with volatile substances and chemicals before but nothing like this.
Then there has been no progress in stabilizing or isolating the substance?
[It's not happy news, but given the way they've seen the thing vanish it's not entirely surprising news, either.]
... It seems to have some degree of self-preservation or reactive ability. It may even have its own intentions, given its form. I wonder how long it can survive in a host -- whether that's the right framework for addressing it.
[Katan is summoned to the bio lab. When he comes in, Yugamu looks up but not quite at him.]
Sorry, I don't think I'm going to be much help, but what exactly did you want to know about the plants? Or... Former ones. I think they're all dead aren't they?
[..... Well Yugamu's already only using one eye, so not looking is probably only half as ineffective...
Anyway, he'll park himself carefully against a counter well away from anything breakable and refrain from gesturing. It sure is a time not breaking things incidentally this week.]
They were, but reviving them with well water... revealed that they were very strange specimens.
[He's speaking in a clipped tone, at a sedate pace.]
I remember you were part of the experiments using blood at the greenhouse?
I was! Or well, the blood was something we tried when we were closer to the well testing the soil there. The soil from around there seemed to help revive the plants a little, though it still needed the water itself... But also the soil around there seemed... almost hungry, you know?
week 2, monday
What kind of details are you interested in?

I see that you're going to be holding back.
[ a small laugh. ]

[Normal thing for soil to be.]
