I know there's a lot of arguably more important things to be doing... But me and Nozomi haven't had a proper date yet, and I feel like she deserves at least one, just in case.

So I thought a picnic on the beach would be nice but I'm not much of a cook.
[All of the what-ifs are very clear even without his elaborating on them. Especially knowing that Nozomi is now infected... Cantarella thinks it must have been recently, but that doesn't mean much with how quickly everything has progressed. It's a matter of days, not months or years, until they are completely overwhelmed.]

If she feels appreciated, she's certain to feel better about her work.
I do tend to focus on things, yes. I suppose you could just consider this my new secondary focus alongside the main one of fixing this whole situation.

I've never been on a picnic so I'm not sure... I think I want to make rice balls but anything else I'm at a loss.
Rice balls sound perfect. But no unusual fillings, all right? You're going to be bringing the food with you wherever you go, so you're going to want light things that travel well and don't cause too much of a mess.
[Well, there's nothing stopping them from packing a nicely sealed canister of soup or hot pasta or something like that...but it will surely ruin the mood if it spills.]
My sandwiches are particularly famous, to give you an idea, though I prefer to grill them. Fruit cut into smaller shapes...perhaps a nice salad or a plate of cured meat and cheese.
[Nodding excitedly. Yes, yes, he knew asking for help was a good call.]
I wanted to put spicy tuna in them!
And I think the fruit and charcuterie would be nice, finger food is good for feeding to another person. And then we can have a salad so it's a complete meal?
[Oh, spicy tuna sounds very good, actually...It would be terrible to live by the sea and not enjoy seafood, so Cantarella is at least lucky in her tastes in that regard.]
Perhaps I'll have to ask you to set one aside for me.
[Teasing. She smiles, pondering the menu.] And finish it off with a nice dessert. You know what Nozomi likes to eat, I'm sure?
