[ honestly i also forget what i'm supposed to know when ]
Are there signs a transformation is coming? And-
[ he thinks for a moment ]
-is this... transformation disease the same one that swept through the previous inhabitants? The spirits in the chapel mentioned something about a disease.
We think it was, yes. We were guided here to try and find a cure, so it only makes sense that this place would have that direct connection to it. Though if they were wiped out, you'd think a cure wasn't found....
[Anyway.]
Before the monstrous transformation sets in, mental deterioration is the most obvious symptom.
... Does that mean you think the disease spread from here to your homes?
[ since they are all here to try and solve the same(?) crisis in their own worlds. ]
Mental deterioration... are there any topics or things that set the ill off? I know people effected by divergence catalysts usually couldn't stand being near chromatus users, and their emotions fluctuated a lot.
Why not? The fact that what's seemingly the same disease spread to the completely different worlds that Foxglove, Sage, Lobelia and I are from suggests it's something that can spread across worlds... Which sounds like magic and why I'm glad there's people here like Sage and Lobelia that know about magic.
[It laughs lightly.]
I don't think there's certain topics? it's more that they start to lose their sense of what's real and also their ability to control their emotions.
[ oh, yeah, he has to explain these things to people now. ]
The chromatus is a power given to people by Chronos, the Great Spirit of Time. It's, uh, a little rigged. The more you use it, the more chromatized- or corrupted- you become. If it goes far enough, it turns into a divergence catalyst, and turns you into its host.
Well, if it's got a divergence catalyst, it's going to have a chromatus user gunning for it.
[ snrrrrrrrrrrrk ok he can't keep a straight face anymore, he'll spit it out. ]
Alternate dimensions replicate souls. More souls means more work for Origin, which means more strain on the cycle of reincarnation. Too many and the cycle starts breaking down.

No. I've never seen it before. But "saving a monster"... Whoever wrote this must know something about the disease and maybe how to cure it.
Or they're full of shit. Hard to know without knowing who wrote it.
no subject
So there definitely is a disease. But... how does it relate to monsters? Does it transform them?
[ he might be operating on a little of an information deficit? or maybe this is new???
(mo_om) ]
no subject
It does, though the exact details of the transformation vary a lot.

[That said.]
What's a divergence catalyst? Or a chromatus?
no subject

[ that's a good overview, right? (no) ]
no subject
If that's what it does, why would you ever use a power like that?
[Ludger you forgot to say what you use chromatus for.]
no subject
Because that's the only way to eliminate a fractured dimension.
no subject
And a fractured dimension is what exactly?
no subject
It's an alternate dimension that has a divergence catalyst at its core.
[ the corners of Ludger's mouth are twitching ]
no subject
And it's.... bad that it's got a divergence catalyst because?
