[Since Rosemary did the autopsy, it's just as well that he'd find them here, even if he wasn't expecting them to be hiding in the closet.]

I'm afraid I don't have a clue what you're talking about. Has someone been going through your things?

You haven’t exactly staked your claim over this entire building, but I’ll keep it in mind the next time I come snooping.

[Whether he’ll actually do it or not is another question entirely, but!!]

What’s gone missing, anyway?

And I take it that's not something you'd just leave out in the open.

[Hm.]

When did you last see it?

It’d take some time to brute force, but they would’ve had at least a few days to try out different combinations.

[Assuming there weren’t any notes with it written down, anyway. But he’ll keep it in mind moving forward because he never really knows with this place.]

Is that the only sample you had?

[ hello wazy, if he wants to chat then the best place for that is decidedly NOT his lab since there isn't anywhere comfy for it, so here they are in his infirmary. ]

You wanted to discuss something?

[can't believe fran won't have this chat while he's synthesizing explosives smh

Honestly though, this is probably the most appropriate place to talk about this.]

It's about Ludger. I heard you were one of the two monitoring his condition?

[ maybe that's the exact reason why!!! anyway. this is not the conversation that he thought he'd be having here. ]

Oh, yes, I am.

[ hmm. ]

Though I'd say it's mainly me who is doing the monitoring. Why?

Considering we haven't had a chance to observe someone in the early stages of infection, I thought it'd be a good time to brush up on the symptoms.

[Giyuu doesn't really count because they didn't know shit at the time and he died after a week!! (thanks naru)]

You can't exactly monitor him 24/7, right?

[ :crymeow: ]

Oh, of course, though the symptoms do vary quite a bit from case to case so the ones that I can mention are the ones that I've experienced the most.

[ where's a good place to start...well. might as well go for the most obvious. ]

Psychological changes are notable than physiological ones since those end up being far more obvious—specifically changes in their attitude. In many of the cases that I've observed, the infected were reported to have become increasingly violent or despondent. In other cases—like we saw with Yuki—they would become lost in their delusions...

I once described the infection as robbing the identity of its host and always for the worse.

[Somewhat ironically, at least a couple of these symptoms are similar to something that circulated back home. Granted, that was a drug, so at least there was an obvious cause that could be removed once it was identified.]

Do they ever come back to themselves? Lynne seemed to be quite lucid, even if she was clearly stressed during the investigation. If there's a way to call them back even for a moment, it would be useful if one of us ended up face-to-face with someone in that state.

[ closes my eyes and ignores the dates. ]

While I haven't been able to confirm here with how the infection has held on those who have not been subdued, I suppose if I was able to give them what I have now, it may be possible.

[ but are we all gamblers here? fran isn't. ]

Ultimately, I don't have experience that there's been a way to really call them back once they've gone through a full transformation...
