[ she can do that, she can totally caress his face with one of her smaller, thinner hands as she speaks to him gently. that's probably a lot better than to eat him, right? maybe take out of his ear before she leaves. ]
Jude? [ she'll have a moment to think about what he said. ] Ah, Jude Mathis. The boy who was immune to the infection.
He failed just as all of the others have up to this point.
[ can't believe Yugamu's comin' for Magi after messing with his #1 hot pick's face ]
Why- You-
[ Ludger gasps, grasping for clarity. Magi, a monster, who only became so because they wished it of her. who can't help but respond to wishes, to desires. (spirits, at least Origin limited himself to just the one) ]
You don't... have to be the monster-!
[ but even as he says that, he thinks, wildly, of that field in rain. the hundreds of thousands of hands, raised in supplication, praying for a miracle. wishing in step with one another. to live to see tomorrow. for their loved ones safety. to go home.
(it's not home, not really. but it's not simply a matter of what they have - it's who they have. could they really leave anyone back in that strange village behind?)
Ludger closes his eye, remembering the weight of those thousands of wishes he chose to take with him. the wishes of the others here. and adds his own.
let them go back. let them return to the others. ]
[ yugamu's a freak and he can deal with it... and it's a shame that he couldn't have said that with more feeling because for the split second that he tells her that she doesn't have to be a monster her demeanor changes just a hair. it's exactly noticeable given what she looks like and how much of her features have been removed and replaced with hands and the shimmering, dark, inkiness.
hands that have not entirely gone away and been retracted but instead have gone mostly idle until he makes mention of being a monster again. and as simply as that, one of her hands will swiftly reach out and take a little bite out of his side. ]
...a monster is a solution to what was asked of me.
[ but no time to dwell on that because regardless of whatever is said next, she will listen to those wishes. those thousands of wishes that will grab her attention and make it clear to her what she should do. ]

Agh-!
[ burning spreads, from the top of his cheek to his ear - a solid, streak of agony, as his flesh, his eye unravels under Magi's touch.
he needs space. he needs to get away- ]
