I asked Mr Alhaitham to make the chassis itself adjustable for major fittings, which is what I'm doing now, but that's harder to adjust daily, so the straps are for you to make minor adjustments from day to day! Ideally we'd have a proper sleeve to fit over your stump but I had to make do with what I had access to.

Yes! It's going to feel strange for a while. It also may exacerbate phantom pain symptoms, but it also may not. Just something to be aware of. If you feel pain, you should take a bread and remove it to make sure it's just phantom pain and not an improper fit.

If it's consistent or reduces once the prosthetic is removed, or if you see marks on your skin, it's probably an issue with the fit.
[ Childermass takes the hand and pulls, dragging himself slowly to his feet — back to two, in a way, with the prosthetic. His jaw tightens, teeth clenched against any noise he might have made as the prosthesis settles against the rest of the leg, and the pressure feels odd, alien to him. He wobbles a bit, but remains upright, though he will close his eyes and will the strangeness away. It is not exactly pain, but... ]
