PREMISE

The MESSAGE is scrambled and distorted, but it doesn’t come from any familiar voice, or even a voice to begin with—not that it matters, as you feel the words all the same. Resonate with them. It’s not a command; it’s a request framed as a statement. The message creates an oppressive weight on your chest with its grief. Underneath the grief, however, is a simmering, insatiable hunger. A hunger you can feel in the back of your mouth.

It momentarily cripples you, immobilizes you, and forces your eyes shut, but only for a fleeting moment. Once that moment passes, both the grief and hunger vanish completely and do not linger. You feel like yourself again, but when you open your eyes, you’ll find yourself in a field that you do not recognize surrounded by unfamiliar buildings.

pestilentem, an upcoming murdergame opening on November 3rd. The game will incorporate various horror themes and tropes and is expected to be plot intensive; we are prepared to accommodate no more than 30 players. All characters will be challenged weekly, allowing them to choose to work together or against each other to influence the outcome of the game.

THE BASICS
▸ Characters will find themselves transported to the game's setting from their current canon point moments after they have expressed a desire, no matter how significant or insignificant that desire is. The specifics of how they got here will not be clear to them.
▸ All powers will be nerfed upon arrival and all/any characters who are dead/have sustained a fatal injury will be brought into the game in good health.
▸ Cast caps are set to three (3) characters per canon. This excludes franchised canons such as the Persona series and Final Fantasy where each specific series will count individually.
▸ Characters do not have to be humanoid in order to be appable; they just have be able to be killed. If you are unsure about your choices, feel free to ask your mods!
▸ While characters of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, we will be taking suitability in mind for this game. Please remember that this a horror-themed game so there will be a lot of sensitive material and content.
▸ It's possible that your character will be chosen to kill, so they must be willing to do so. Characters may also be incentivized to kill on their own. Please keep these things in mind when deciding on your character choices.

This game will be run on an invite-only basis, so you must have received a link to this interest check from one of the mods: Naru, Amb, Milky, & Caitie. If there are still slots remaining by October 23rd, we will open those slots for players to invite +1s. Please remember to ask the mods before extending those invitations!

Like in previous games, we will be using a Discord server for game updates, which you can join HERE. Even if you're undecided about joining, you're free to come and hang out in the peanut gallery if it turns out you can't make it. Since all ongoing information in the game will be going through the server, it is mandatory to join once your application is in.

Consideration(s): UHHHHHHHH I ACTUALLY AM A LITTLE INDECISIVE THIS TIME but uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh what if I play Sakura Matou from Fate/stay night without thinking about what that means for me in terms of canon reviewing yet the fuck again.

I also have a character no one's heard of who's just a nuclear weapon with anxiety who would mentally be a mess in this setting (crymaria valkyria chronicles), but she has purple hair and big tits so maybe I can't typecast myself that hard. And since Octopath II seems to be on the hearts and minds of people, I GUESS I could also finally resign myself to government-assigned doctor and pick up Castti Florenz, finally. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON HOW COMPETENT I WANT TO BE AND HOW BADLY I WANT TO HARDMODE CUCK MYSELF.

Alternatively, I put my paws into the depths of my gacha stable and finally withdraw a Path to Nowhere woman or continue to shill Wuthering Waves or join the More Hoyoverse bloodbath. But don't worry about it. I simply do not know how to be kind to myself.
Likelihood: 75%. Burnout bad.

Also the thing is I kinda promised Naru a go-getter, but now we're here, and all of my frontrunner considerations are shitshows with every disease. Since I know involvement in plot-sniffing is important for progression in this game, will there be openings for characters who are like. Bad. At being people. To be involved?
