ROLE - DOCTOR
Hello Doctor.
Can I call you "doctor"? Well, regardless of your feelings on the matter or whether you have the qualifications of being a doctor, this will now be your role. Your task will be simple - figure out who has been infected and help them. A bit daunting of a task, I know, however it will come with an upside!
You will be completely immune from the infected and will be given an item that will let you know how recently that person has been infected. If they have been infected in the first place. This item will take shape of whatever you wish it to be but will have a single (1) use - unfortunately.
Oh, and before you leave, there's a book titled "Doctors for Dummies" that you may find to be very interesting. It might help you out - help all of us out.
NOTES:
- The book will be updated every Monday at 9 AM of the new week.
- This is NOT a secret role, however it would be beneficial if you did not make your role public.
- You may request help from one (1) other player and one (1) NPC of your choice. You cannot change your choice.
- Pick one (1) person to save on Thursday, even if you are chosen to die that week.

Don't be hard on yourself. The side effects of the changes to our appearance also effected some of our behaviors.
[ and the way i must answer this tag as a mod full of secrets. ]
It's not like I did any better at identifying anyone who might have been ill. With so many changes so suddenly... I don't know how helpful my observations would have been.

[The dogfight at the meeting... At least some of it had seemed to come from this and not any other erosion of personality, as concerned as she remains for the extent and painfulness of Mr. Childermass's transformation.]
And we fell into slumber again unbidden, at around the same time. I assume this is something you might have already noticed? [Though she isn't sure...she'd told him about her own suspicions of infection, but she also suspects he's been attached to his lab for 72 hours.] What's to be done, then, if this wasn't illness spreading at all?
[AND ALSO: WHAT IS HAPPENING?]

Two times is still too few times to consider it beyond more than a coincidence, but it doesn't mean that it's still not noteworthy.
[ he'll sigh deeply as he tries to think things through. oh how he wishes he could provide more than speculation and give her tangible answers. though, whether this is the illness or not— ]
What would be better for us? The illness spreading or learning that these deaths would be unrelated? [ ... ] I wouldn't want either.
[ but the illness is, at least, a ""better"" choice. ]

[She exhales and stares into the depths of her beaker of water for a moment, then seems to activate a steel within herself.]
We will owe the dead a great debt when this is finished, regardless of the reason. [That's why they must not be idle, though they must also not be foolhardy.] Has anything I've given to you furthered things along?
no subject
[ of course. ]
I'm sure that they'll be demanding more answers from us tomorrow when we show ourselves to everyone else.
[ and here cantarella can get a proper gauge on just how tired "foxglove" sounds (and looks should she do that). the puppet voice distortion gone and only a very tired and frustrated alchemist who will let out a long sigh. ]
I've made some progress, but just going off of my notes alone—I still might need more time before I'd want to say I have anything useable. The formula that I have right now killed a few plants I brought back with me.
[ which...is progress, actually, so don't worry about it? ]

It does get her to snap her gaze out of the Pesive-or-Resolute Beaker, however, which is when she really gets a full look at him.]
I've a plethora of questions, but before we begin dissecting them...
You're going to reveal yourselves in your true bodies? [Mixed emotions cross her face.] It's likely the best way to establish further cooperation between us...but I worry it'll put you in danger after today. [A little of her normal playful affect comes back as she brushes her hand along the side of her face.] You can pretend to be embarrassed of me if it's better to keep our working relationship under wraps.

You're very kind, Cantarella.
But no, I believe it'll still be Lobelia who will be showing his "face" in front of everyone. He has an easier time handling an angry crowd than the rest of us— [ which she can totally see now. imagine an angry mob against this guy. truly he'd just get bullied by them all...or be the first one to be taken down. or both! ] —though Sage seems be reaching their limit.
Truthfully, I might be the last to show my face, so you don't have anything to worry about.
no subject
I see. [She has nothing to say to his affirmation that she is kind, only the very small pull of her smile on her lips.} You only meant the next time we meet to discuss what has happened. I'm not worried about myself. [This sounds fairly genuine,as if Cantarella is certain she might be able to handle it.]
If the group at large knew we were collaborating on a longterm cure...would that offer them consolation or make them more desperate?
no subject
[ GIVEN THAT ALL OF "EXECUTION" HAPPENED...this is funny but anyway we roll with this. ]
I'd hope it would give them consolation that there's genuine trust between us in the hopes of being able to move forward in finding answers soon. [ hmmms. ] ...but I also see it resulting in us publicly shouldering the desperation.
[ at the end of the day? there's only one thing he can say. ]
The opinion of me hasn't exactly been great, but if you're fine sharing it then I'll support your decision and endure whatever happens.

Perhaps they think they can nudge more answers from you...if they've noticed that you happen to be rather shy.
[She could see how they might take his hesitant and nervous temperament the wrong way, as she originally wondered.]
I fear the search for people carrying the infection could become a witch hunt. I think I'd better keep my purported immunity to myself, for now.
no subject
I'm not certain if it'll be a "simple nudge" from everyone.
[ but he also knows that he can't hide forever if things are going to be able to move forward so. here things lie. he'll have to show his face eventually... ]
For now, then. Once we know it's safe enough for you to talk about it, then maybe we can tell a handful of people.
no subject
[A handful of people...that much sounds like it won't create a poison rotting through their ranks, create a clamor where everyone wants to touch the treatment before it might be any use to them. She nods, placing her glass (which is still about half-full, or half-empty) down on the counter.]
Shall I continue to call you "Foxglove" for now?
no subject
[ because fran must be real here, though he says it with a bit of a joke. he can make fun of himself without making it dramatic or awful. ]
If that's what you're comfortable with, otherwise my name is Victor Frankenstein.
[ this is where he would mention that he has a nickname but won't. ]
no subject
[Cantarella is elegant and noble and quite clearly observes no small amount of decorum. That she has rather unilaterally chosen the intimate familiarity of first names with each of these strangers at any opportunity is likely recognizable as intentional and friendly.]
Shall I introduce myself once more? Cantarella Fisalia, 36th Matriarch of the Fisalia family.
no subject
he isn't unfamiliar with interacting with people of a much higher status than himself. ]
It's an honor and a pleasure to meet and work with you, Cantarella Fisalia. I hope that our partnership will be an enjoyable one.
